Join the Anacostia Watershed Society for a boat tour of the Anacostia River to explore the ecological and historical changes in the river and the communities around the river. Escape the heat on our fall tour with captain and tour guide, Kaila Cantens, Mount Holyoke Class of 2017, who will guide us through the our past, current, and future programmatic efforts to protect and restore the Anacostia. In case of severe weather conditions, we will do our best to schedule a rain date for the following week.
Meeting Location: We will gather at the benches on the Diamond Teague Park trail at the entrance to the boat ramps. There is no guarantee that there will be sufficient street parking. We recommend biking or taking public transportation.
What to Wear/Bring: We recommend wearing a hat, sunscreen and layers and bringing a reusable water bottle.
Note:
If you have any questions prior to the event, please contact Kaila Cantens at kcantens@anacostiaws.org. We look forward to hosting you on our favorite river!
