Join the Anacostia Watershed Society for a boat tour on the Anacostia River to explore the ecological and historical changes that have occurred in the river and in the communities around the river. We will have the opportunity to witness some of the restoration of river habitats and how it has caused the rebound of the wildlife in the Anacostia River. 

Meeting Location: Anacostia Park, 1500 Anacostia Drive, Washington, DC 20020. We will gather at the boat ramp by the Skating Pavilion in Anacostia Park.

Physical Level of Difficulty: Moderate

• This event will involve walking for long distances. To access the boat ramp you will need to walk (at minimum) 0.6 miles to get to the boat ramp. Sturdy walking shoes are highly recommended for this site. If you think any of the physical requirements will be problematic, please let us know.

What to Wear/Bring: We recommend wearing sunscreen and a hat and bringing water. 

Note:  

• All tours are weather dependent. We will proceed in light rain, but may need to cancel if there is heavy rain, lightning, or strong wind in the forecast.
• If you are sick or exhibiting symptoms associated with COVID-19 (such as fever, chills, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, etc.), please do not come to the event and consider joining us another time.
