Description: Join us at Petworth Citizen for this month's Watershed Wednesday Happy Hour! We will hear from Julie Lawson, a former AWS staff member and recently appointed Director of the new Mayor's Office of the Clean City. Julie will discuss new initiatives being implemented by the city to reduce litter and its effect on our rivers and streams. Julie first got involved in litter reduction efforts as a volunteer for the Surfrider Foundation and went on to found Trash Free Maryland, where she helped to secure a ban on Styrofoam containers. She has spent time trawling for trash in the Chesapeake Bay and will share her experiences on what she found and what you can do to help.
Many thanks to Petworth Citizen for generously hosting us this month in their Reading Room!
