Come discover your Anacostia River by joining AWS for a paddle at the Bladensburg Waterfront Park, a beautiful park situated near the original historical port of Bladensburg. Just south of the confluence of the North East and North West Branches of the Anacostia River, from this site you can explore the most suburban launch point of the river.
Please note this event is first-come first-served, so come early for a better chance of getting out on the water!
Meeting Location: We will gather at the boat ramp at Bladensburg Waterfront Park at 4601 Annapolis Rd, Bladensburg, MD 20710. The park is accessible via Bike Trail (Anacostia Tributary Trail System: Anacostia River Trail). There is some parking available.
What to Wear/Bring: All participants must arrive wearing a face mask. We will have some hand sanitizer available, but please feel free to bring your own. We recommend wearing sunscreen and a hat, and bringing water and a towel (sometimes you get splashed while canoeing).
Note: All tours are weather dependent. We will proceed in light rain, but may need to cancel if there is heavy rain, lightning, or strong wind in the forecast.
If you have any questions prior to the event, please contact us at ecastelli2@anacostiaws.org. We look forward to hosting you on our favorite river!
