2:00 PM EDT - 4:00 PM EDT
Join the Anacostia Watershed Society for a boat tour of the Anacostia River to explore the ecological and historical changes that have occurred in the river and in the communities around the river. We will have the opportunity to witness some of the restoration of river habitats and how it has caused the rebound of the wildlife and observe trash reduction projects along the Anacostia River.
Meeting Location: We will gather at the public boat ramp in Diamond Teague Park. The address is 100 Potomac Ave SE. It is a short walk from the Navy Yard Metro and DC Water's HQO. Please follow signs to the public dock where we'll be launching. We will not be launching from the Earth Conservation Corps dock.
What to Wear/Bring: We recommend wearing layers and bringing water, a hat, and sunscreen.
Note: All tours are weather dependent. We will proceed in light rain, but may need to cancel if there is heavy rain, lightning, or strong wind in the forecast.
If you have any questions prior to the event, please contact Ariel Trahan at atrahan@anacostiaws.org or 301-699-6204 ext. 113. We look forward to hosting you on our favorite river!
