Learn about the natural and cultural history of the Anacostia River with the Anacostia Watershed Society on a guided canoe tour! You will explore the ecological and historical changes that have occurred in the river and in the communities around the river. We will have the opportunity to witness some of the restoration of river habitats and how it has caused the rebound of the wildlife in the Anacostia River.
Meeting Location: We will gather at the boat ramp at Bladensburg Waterfront Park at 4601 Annapolis Rd, Bladensburg, MD 20710.
What to Wear/Bring: We recommend wearing sunscreen and a hat and bringing water and a towel (sometimes you get splashed while canoeing).
Note: All tours are weather dependent. We will proceed in light rain, but may need to cancel if there is heavy rain, lightning, or strong wind in the forecast.
If you have any questions prior to the event, please contact Emily at econrad@anacostiaws.org. We look forward to hosting you on our favorite river!
