What to Expect

Event Date: April 26, 2025; 11:00am-1:00pm

Be prepared to get dirty, have fun, and help your community!

After Celebration will be hosted at Anacostia Park (by the Skating Pavilion) starting at 1:30 pm

When you arrive look for signs to check in.

Site leaders will brief you on basic safety measures to ensure that everyone has a safe, fun time. All tools and supplies needed will be provided during check in - no need to bring your own gloves unless you have a favorite pair.

This is a family friendly event and kids are welcome! However, all participants under 18 must also have completed registration.

If you are under 18, you will need a parent/guardian to digitally consent to your participation during registration.

Group Registrations

What to Bring

Closed-toed shoes and long pants are a must.
A water bottle for yourself and any members of your family.
A small snack, if need be.
Under 18: This event counts for Student Service Learning Hours (SSL)! If you bring your forms, site leaders and AWS staff will sign off on your hard work.

Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather (rain or shine!) and wear clothes you won't mind getting dirty.

Physical Level of Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult

This event will likely involve lifting, bending, and walking on uneven surfaces and/or steep slopes. Participants will be expected to wear closed-toed shoes for the duration of the event. If you think any of the physical requirements will be problematic, please let us know.

Bathrooms are available for use in the adjoining shopping center
