Join AWS and Project Greenfoot for a workshop on seed saving. Project Greenfoot is a collaboration of skilled diverse people from all walks of life who love nature and seek to thrive in the untouched world while helping to transform our relationship with food, wildlife and our planet. Seed saving is both a science and a tradition that strengthens food security and preserves agricultural diversity. In this session, participants will learn the core principles of seed saving, from understanding plant reproduction to proper cleaning, drying, and storage techniques. Attendees will gain the knowledge and confidence to begin saving seeds with intention and care.
The workshop will be lead by Melony Edwards. Melony Edwards is a seasoned farmer and advocate for sustainable agriculture with a background in seed stewardship and regional food systems. Her farming experience spans heirloom crop production, seed saving, and local value chain development. Melony has worked to strengthen domestic agriculture through programs that support small and mid-scale producers, emphasizing biodiversity, resilience, and community-based food security.
