We welcome you to join the Anacostia Watershed Society for a Virtual Presentation - Recovering the tree canopy after the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Invasion in Riparian Areas of the Anacostia River/ The experience of AWS, master naturalists and other community partners.

Meeting Location: Virtual via Zoom, but we will offer a field tour by boat (limited spots available) to look at the reforestation areas the following Saturday, August 23rd at Bladensburg Waterfront Park in Bladensburg, MD.
Description: The Anacostia Watershed Society and our current Master Naturalists cohort will talk about our project recovering riparian areas affected by the invasive Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). We will talk about our tree planting experience including site selection, tree species selection, planting methodology/practices, maintenance and monitoring.
This presentation and the associated field trip are recommended for any community groups or non-profit organizations attempting a similar reforestation project in areas impacted by EAB.
