Meeting Location: Bladensburg Waterfront Park 4601 Annapolis Rd, Bladensburg, MD 20710. A virtual presentation via Zoom will precede this tour on August 21, 7 pm-8:30 pm, and will go over the aspects of this projects in more detail. We recommend people to attend both events.
Project: AWS and our current master naturalists cohort will give a boat tour of our project recovering riparian areas affected by the invasive Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). The tour will include a short pontoon boat ride as well as walking one of our riparian tree planting areas.
This field trip and the associated Zoom presentation are recommended for any community groups or non-profit organizations attempting a similar reforestation project in areas impacted by EAB.
Physical Level of Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
What to Wear/Bring: We recommend wearing closed-toed shoes, sunscreen and a hat, and bringing water in a reusable water bottle(s).
